About Rick Kratz

Rick Kratz

Starting at a very young age I've always had a passion for bears. I moved to the Appalachian/Blue Ridge mountains a little over 26 years ago and that passion has just grown stronger and to include all wild things. Photography had just been a way to capture those special moments along the way. However, as time has passed photography has become a creative outlet for me also. These mountains are magical. The experiences are endless. I backpack the Smokies and the Blue Ridge mountains on a regular basis. That allows me to go deeper into the woods, enjoy the quiet, the flora and fauna, and bring back part of those experiences. I truly hope in the very end just to simply induce a smile when someone views my work and even inspire more...
